removing the category description

I'm trying to find a way to turn off the Category Description. There isn't an easy little admin setting I can change is there??? I've looked around the Admin area and can't find anything...any suggestions?

I'm really hoping it's something easy like that, and that I'm just blind and can't find the setting.

I assume you're referring to the category description on the product listing page?
If you are, there is no admin switch to turn it off. You can either edit the category description so its blank (in which case nothing will be displayed) or you can edit the file includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_index_product_list.php and remove this section of code (lines 48-53):

<?php } // categories_description ?>

save the edited file as includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_index_product_list.php

In Configuration > Product Listing > Display Product Description, you can set the number of characters of the description to display. "0" turns it off.
