Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

I have IH2 installed on both of my sites. Site 1 is fine and dandy, works well and settings are good. I mirrored those settings in Site 2 and everything seems OK but when I hover over the little x in the corner of the small photo, a medium photo does not appear. Both sites are running 1.3.6. Site 2 is built using the Apple Zen Template.

Any idea what I'm missing? The site in question is PittiVintage

You don't have everything uploaded. WHen I look at your source, I don't see these two referenced:

Shot in the dark...

Do you have the Administration Profiles mod installed by any chance?

If so -- you need to allow the image handler to have permission to run.

If it's not that, your server hosting may not give you access to use the ImageMagick binary on their servers -- you could try changing IH2 to use the GD library and see if that works.

I installed Image Handler 2 on Zen Card 1.3.7
PHP safe_mode = OFF
Permissions
/admin = 755
/images and all subdirectories = 777
/bmz_cache = 755
/admin/images = 755
image_handler.php = 644 (i try with 744, 755 but the same error - see bellow). When i try with 777 i get fatal error in image handler!


My problem:
Image Handler seems to work fine. Everything is good until i try to add more pictures in a product (via admin/tools/image handler 2)
I see categories, i select product, i am going to add pic (new file).
I select the image file but when i click to save i get the message:


You don't have permission to access /admin/image_handler.php on this server.

Why i don't have permission? image_handler.php works until i click to save new pictures...
Please help! I am stuck...

You're a champ, Jade! When I decided to switch to Apple Zen, I had already installed IH2 into my original template. Afterwards I neglected to transfer those two files into Apple. Thanks!!

In my BeadedLily site those images do not have the little "x" in the corner, which is preferred. However, in my PittiVintage site they do. The settings in admin/images seem to be identical. Where would I make the change to eliminate the "x"?

Thanks Jade - However, my question is: Why do my category heading images in PittiVintage have the hotzone "x"? In BeadedLily those same images do not and I would prefer that they do not. The settings in admin/images seem to be identical for both sites.

Okay, after reading 81 pages with no eminent solution I thought I'd post my problem.

We used to have IH2 on a different host and it worked flawlessly. I have since moved to another host and now IH2 doesn't work.

You can see here at http://www.clevershoppers.com IH looks like it's creating images because if you click on properties it will show you the image location and filename. However, when I login to the server there is absolutely zero file created in any of the various folders in bmz_cache.

I have set permission to 777 on bmz_cache and all the sub-folders
I have clear cache and uninstall and reinstall IH2 from the admin side.

It appears that the script is doing everything but actually generating the image.

I should add that I also edited the config file to use ImageMagic.

Any help in troubleshooting this is greatly appreciated.

PS. I use add that IH is now acting as a user NOBODY when it creates folder which is different than the way it behaved on old host.
