Main page contents showing on subcategory pages

    Hi,

On my site, whenever someone clicks on a category that has subcategories, the main page information shows up at the top of the page and the subcategory information shows below it. I don't know why this is happening. Just yesterday it was fine and I haven't changed anything since then. If someone clicks onto a category that does not contain subcategories, it goes to the product information as its supposed to. But, if there are subcategories, the main page content remains on the page.

I have searched all over the forums and have found no answer to this little problem. Everything looks fine in the Configuration --> Layout Settings and I can't find anything in the files.

Can someone please help? If you need to see what I am referring to here is my site url http://shop.lilspunkybunny.com.

I see what you are describing...and this will take someone who knows code better than I.

Just do not want you to feel alone. It would probably be helpful if you could post the ZenCart version that you are using along with any other information like modifications installed etc.

You need to get up with your template designer - you have something wrong, all of your link are showing the ZenID and the menu is not operating as it was designed.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

    Hi,

Kobra thanks for sympathizing. I am using ZenCart version 1.3.01. Kim, I designed it myself and I have many zencart stores, but have never had this problem before. As far as the ZenId showing up, how do I change that? I didn't do anything different from any of my other installations. The ZenId has been showing since I installed it a two weeks ago.

The main page contents showing up above the subcategory contents just started yesterday. I don't know why, I don't know how.

    Any suggestions?

Also, one more thing, the category description is viewable sometimes, but other times it is not. I don't know if this is an issue with IE. If you try to highlight the so-called missing words, they appear. Why is this happening?

Thanks everyone for all your help.

Sorry for the double post, but Kim what do you mean the menu is not operating as it should be? I haven't changed any hard codes and I am using the stylesheets that came with 1.3.01. All I have changed in the stylesheets are the values of the elements.

Can you explain what may be going on so I can try to fix it?

    Thanks.

I think that there was a glitch in 1.3.0 that surfaced when a product was added before a category, or product added then category added or something similar.

I was fairly sure that this was addressed with 1.3.0.1 though as there were many that had this problem.

Did you install from 1.3.0.1 files full set or upgrade a 1.3.0 site?

Can't tell how many products you have due to your problem...

There are many problems that come up from a faulty edit such as extra spaces & non showing characters etc. you can search the site for instances of these. usually my site is broke and the like.

What are you using as an editor?

Can you get into your admin? or is that broke also?

    Hi Kobra,

First let me say thank you for helping me with this problem. I appreciate it. The site was a fresh install of v1.3.01. So far the problems I stated are the only ones I found.

I can get into the admin panel without a problem.

I have been going through the files to see if there are any extra spaces or something jumps out at me, but I can't find anything unusual.

Also, I noticed that the zenid at the end of the url only shows in Firefox. Is that
some sort of a glitch too?

Thanks again in advance to everyone for all your help.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you I am using Dreamweaver mostly. Sometimes, I will edit with wordpad or notepad, but 95% of the time it's Dreamweaver.

    Thanks

    Hi,

First I want to thank Kobra and Kim for helping me with this issue. I appreciate it.

Secondly, I found the problem. I installed the FAQ manager in my store and while it did work fine, there is a section in the install that requires you to add a bit of code to the bottom of /includes/application_top.php. I did not need the FAQ section anymore and when I removed that one bit of code, my store went back to working correctly.

I posted this in case anyone comes across the problem I was having. Check the application_top.php file.

Once again, thanks everyone for all your help.

After I installed the FAQ module that's what happened to me, my index page image ended up on all of my subcatogories page, did you just end up taking the FAQ module out or have you figured out a way to stop the index page info from popping up on the sub catorgies, i noticed that it happens after updating the applicaiton_top page, but I'm wondering if you figured it out how to use the faq module with having that happen
