How do I edit html of main page?

Sorry for such a basic question, but how do I edit the html of the main page of my store? I'm not talking about the html editor of the text box, but actual page html.

When I use my FTP program, I go to mysite/store, and all I can find are .php files.

Specifically, I want to change my header.jpg file and add image maps to include hyperlinks external to zen cart.

I tried the search function and found nothing on this.
