Re: HELP!! new at this and pics to big and ugh
Just my two cents but how's about this?
List products by scent and have the selection(s) as the shape/size?
Under Lavender - Tea Lite, Votive, etc.
Might a consumer be looking for a particular fragrance, then type of candle?

You can post a request in the commercial help section. Be sure to read guidelines, warnings, etc. carefully.
If 50 scents become 50 products, that does not seem excessive to me personally.
Would that be 50 products that have 3-5 options? (candle, cache, etc) Sure seems better than 3-6 products with 50 options each.

mimi - take a look at this contrib for managing attributes. It may help.

Re: HELP!! new at this and pics to big and ugh
Mimi,
Our shop has 33 scents and 72 colors for our candles and we use dropdown boxes for the attributes. The candle sizes and container types use radio buttons.
The big job is getting the first set of attributes done. And yes it is time consuming and a lot of work.
Once you've done that in the option names and option values you could set up a "dummy category and product" and add the attributes to this. Once this is done you can use the attrributes controller and copy the attributes to your real products.
This assumes that all of your candles would be using the same attributes.
