how to remove names from newsletter

How do I remove names from the newsletter for anyone who doesn't want to rec'v it any more? Thanks guys. I like the new site design!

Go to Admin > Customers, find the customer you want to delete the newsletter subscription for,
Edit that customer.
At the bottom of the page, in the Newsletter dropdown, select Unsubscribed.
Click the Update button.

oh boy...
I found this post as I was searching for an answer...
and I may have not done things correctly!

I have cleaned house and delete old inactive customers but they are still showing up when I go to send out a newsletter.

Now that I have deleted them from admin how in the world do I delete them from the newsletter subscription???

Never mind my previous post.
It appears, for whatever reason, Im getting an error message when deleting accounts.
The accounts are in fact deleted from admin as well as the newsletter but for some reason they still show up in the newsletter list.
Will have to wait to upgrade cart for a fix.
