Allowing Customer to Login and download with one link

    Hi All,
Is there a clever way to create a direct link do a customer's download content?

I was thinking of something like.... http://www.mysite.com/index.php?main...d&order=1&id=1
which would take them to a minimalist login page and woudl then link them directly to the downloadable product.

This would then login and allow them to download a specific product.

I am particularly interested in doing something like this for mobile phone content, thoughtit would come in handy when sending this information to the customer so that they can just click on the the link within their email to be taken directly to their download, rather than having to login into the "My Account" area first.

you should use the WAP protocols in order to be able to offer mobile downloadable content!

for the direct link, you need to manually add the download link to a source outside of zen cart for example in the product description, place a link something like <a href="http://www.yourdomain.com/download (but not Zen)/filename.zip">download</a>. that should do it...good luck!

I get the order URL in email ... click it and it opens a browser ... I login and I go right to the download(s) ...

Personally I don't think I would want to login somewhere and have it throwing things at me to download until I am ready ...

I've done this but when I click on the rext link I've set up here http://easybeading.com.au/index.php?...2000296c11d306 it asks for logging in details which my customers don't have as it is within the database.

Is there a way to do it so customers can just download the zip file from a text link without needing to log into the database.

It is a free download of available necklace designs so it doesn't need to be prchased.

    Thank you kindly.

Well, I've done it, or should I say, my husband done it. He's so smart and he would be an awsome zenner but he just isn't interested in this type of thing ....

The way I got around it was by moving the zip file to the www folder instead of leaving it in the download folder. I added a normal html link to the words click here in the usual format and so it opens in a new window.

Whne clicked the window opens up with nothing on it and the dowload window comes yp with the ususla open-save-cancel options. When it's done downloading it closes it and voila, done.

Of course, if anyone who actually understands all this can think of a reason why it shouldn't be done this way, by all means let me know. You can view this by going to this page http://www.easybeading.com.au/pashegallery.zip

    Kind regards,
    Raquel.
