Hi countrycharm,
I am trying to set up a gift card module for a client, and the cards (which would be sold in the store AND online) do have pre-assigned numbers. Have you found a way to add these to your database so that they can be used like credit cards if the customer purchases something on the site?

FINALLY!

I managed to squeeze out a little bit of time and revisited the gift card module. I was able to fix the major bug that was preventing the card numbers from being stored in the db.

I apologize for the delay and hope everyone who was looking for this will be able to help test and improve upon the module.

I also want to clarify exactly what this mod does...

Our brick and mortar store sells custom gift cards that we wanted to be able to sell and redeem the same cards via our website. The card numbers were 16 digits long and appeared to be generated randomly by our cc merchant. The cards are not processed automatically, rather they are processed here locally by a clerk.

So to clarify this module will:

- Store the outer digits in the db and email you the inner digits.
- Allow you to set the max number of digits the card should have.
- Allow you to give your gift card a unique name.

I realize this is pretty limited in scope but I know there are a few others out there who really needed this solution as well.

I have been using it on a high traffic site for over a year. Works great for our needs...exactly why I wrote it. ;)

Welcome back madk. Is there anyway to use this Module with letters and numbers and even a -. The reason I asking is some of my gift cards are like this
1B1N0-GG0G1-D0D8Q-P1S13-Q0. Thank you in advance.

Ok, I am new to Zencart and setting up my first store- so all help will be greatly appreciated! All my site will sell is gift cards- similar to restaurant.com- so customers will need to be able to pick a particular gift card for a particular merchant, and then pay the associated price, then I would like for the gift card to automatically be generated and sent in an email to both the purchaser as well as a confirmation to the merchant- with a matching code on each so that when the purchaser brings it into the store to use, the merchant can match it with a list to make sure it is not used multiple times.
