I have been playing with a new type. Everything is fine until i get to "insert" then it comes up with the error
Any ideas on where the error might be ?1054 Unknown column 'products_id' in 'where clause'

this is typically a result of weak JOIN syntax on SQL queries running on MySQL5.
There are a number of threads discussing this issue in relation to Zen Cart v1.2.x (mostly 1.2.6 and 1.2.7).
