Wrong email entered by customer doesn't bounce

    Hi there
I had a case yesterday were a customer signed up and made a typo in their email address. The order arrived in admin etc. however none of the confirmation emails reached the customer. The strange thing is that I didn't receive any bounced emails to alert me to fact that something was going wrong. I only found out when the customer called me. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for your answer. Would be nice to get a customer accidently.
However I have tested it with email addresses that do not exist eg tba AT tba DOT com and I still don't receive a bounced email. Any other ideas?

I know this is a bit of a late reply to the original question but I am posting my solution here in case others search and find this post (as I did).

After consulting with my host I was told:

. . you need to add the command line switch "-F <from address>"
    'Que?' Says I.

Fortunately you don't need to know what this means :-)

In Admin go to Configuration>E-Mail Options>E-Mail Transport Method

    Click 'Edit'

    Choose the 'sendmail-f' radio button

    Click 'Update'

Hey presto! Bounced email will now be returned to 'Email Address (sent FROM)' as configured in Admin Configuration>E-Mail Options.

You might want to check with your host first as I think this might depend on the way sendmail is configured on your host's server.

    Hope this helps,

    Alan
