I have been searching all over for help on this question and can't find an answer...i have the e-mail settings set to send MIME HTML e-mails but the confirmation e-mails that is getting sent out are really ugly! they look like this:

the customer wants it totally customized and i cannot figure out how to change the e-mails....please help!

Assuming your text-only emails are working properly, I would likely blame it on a setting in your email server's setup. Not sure exactly "which" setting.
Others have reported similarly, but I don't recall the solution to it.

Does this happen on several different email clients? ie: did you try sending to yahoo/hotmail accounts, and outlook, and thunderbird, and pegasus, and so on?

yes-we tried it on several differant types of e-mails and it is only sending text.
