Removing header in Purpleshades and other stupid questions

Hi

I know I'm being stupid but I've been trying to do this for days now and just keep making a mess. I've tried to search but I'm not finding answers I understand!

1) I want to get rid of the pics at the top of the purpleshades template and just put in one of my own - a header from my other site. I have figured out how to change the pics themselves but I don't know how to delete them. I have got the tpl_header.php file but I am unsure what bits to delete.
2) I want to get rid of the 'Zen Cart! The art of Ecommerce' line on the very top of the window. I found the answer in your forums then lost it again! argh!
3) I have signed up as a member of my site to test it. When I log in I get 'page not found' but if I press the back button I am logged in. Its the same when I log out.

I have honestly tried to find the answers but I'm maybe a bit too clueless for the explanations I've discovered! My last attempt at writing code was a ZX81 and its all a bit more complicated than that now!

changing /recoding headers is a coding job, you just have to know how tables / divs and css files work... just learn by doing?


Re. the log on problem, I think I had similar with a site, it was down to changing the way the automatic server generated page sessions are done, alter it in admin, theres a post somewhere

Try setting the 'recreate sessions' in configuration | sessions, to what it isn't

You're right that no 2 is in the FAQ. But even easier is just to do a search using those words and you'll turn up many previous threads answering that question

I did a tidy up of code layout in the 1.3 version purpleshades /common/tpl_header.php if it makes life any easier

to be honest, I wanted to check the html code and its far easier if its laid out clearly

Aplogies any errors in it, I copied the code into the current 1.3.2 header file, I left the old code in there, but commented it out. W.I.P.
