Specials vs. Salesmaker

Okay -

When I create Specials - I see the price crossed out and the new price under it, along with the percentage off.

When I create something in Salemaker - it shows the new lowest price in the product listing, but only shows the price with the cute red line through it and percentage off under the "June Specials" Banner towards the bottom of the home page.

I prefer to have the cute red line with the percentage off in all situations.

Is this how it is supposed to work, or am I missing something here? Anyone else experience this - or is this completely normal?
