only one plain text email should be html..GC send by customer

Hi!

Well i am almost there.....just a few small things and the shop is pretty and done :)
I hust run into a problem well better say ?? for me: ALL email is html using the templates in dir: email/
Except when a customer sends somoneone a Giftcertificate, then mail arrives plain text...adn well... all looks so much better html with the templates :)
ANy idea what is causing this exception?

i tried many things already like:
run the shop in diff. languages but again.. makes no difference.
ALL email is send HTML except when a customer sends someone a giftcertificate.....

in config --> email options html mail is on!!!

just this tiny little problem.....

The way this works is ...

If the person receiving the Gift Certificate is already a customer setup to receive HTML email ... then the customer gets HTML email ...

If the person receiving the Gift Certificate is NOT already a customer ... they will receive a TEXT email as the preference of the "new" customer is not known ...

mmmm... but order mail and the like go html even when that is not set by the customer right?

How could i do a 'hack' to get the Gift Cert. also in html?

No ... customers recieve the emails in the manner in which they requested them ...

If I come to your site and say send me TEXT email ... I do not want to get HTML email ... otherwise why did you bother to ask me?

If I asked to get HTML format than I would anticipate HTML format or TEXT depending on why you are contacting me ...

I do believe all emails have an HTML format when that is requested ... but I have not looked lately ...

Ok, understood; maybe we have to live with this one text email then alltough i still think it looks much better when a gift certificate is in html when a customer sends a gift to some-one else.... the other is indeed not a customer yet and cannot have pref. set but still it looks awfull but then: if they have html mail OFF they will see plain text anyway; sending the html mail does not mean they cannot read it in plain text as far is i tested so it would be great if i could do some 'hacking' for this one.

is there a way to remove all the HTML tag like é from the files which are used to create the e-mail in TEXT formt?
I looked to it but have not found solution...

Might peek at the conversion used more for currencies, but can be used for anything in the Configuration ... Email Options ...

What currency conversions do you need for Text emails?
Default = £,£:€,€

Add in what you want that changed to for the TEXT emails ...

Note: if you want it blank, put it either first or between two other settings and not on the end ...
