Can't get past Step 1 of 3, Delivery Information Shi...

I have just set up the PayPal module and am trying to purchase something from my store, but I can't get past the first step of the Checkout process.

When I click on Continue Checkout, I remain at the current page. The page reloads, but that is all... I cannot get to Step 2, Choose your payment method...

I guess I have missed something simple, at least I hope!

What Shipping Modules are installed?

Did you add Zones and block them from running?

What kind of Product are you checking out with?

Do you Products have weight?

Does 0 weight mean Free Shipping?

Is Free Shipping freeshipper Shipping Module installed?

If 0 weight does not mean Free Shipping, did you turn this off in the Shipping/Packaging?

Are you using Always Free Shipping? If so, you need the Free Shipping freeshipper Shipping Module installed ...

Wow! I will start at the top...

My store is selling books, dvds and memberships. So memberships have no shipping, but most items have a flat rate of 200 yen (I live in Japan) and if an order is over 3,000 yen then shipping is free, weight does not come into the equation...

So in the Shipping area I set up Flat Rate Module and Free Shipping Options. That is it for shipping..

I didn’t touch the Zones page.

As our products ship for a flat rate we have no need for weights, so all of them are zero.

Freeshipper Shipping Module is not installed.

In Shipping/Packaging - Order Free Shipping 0 weight Status is set to 0 ie., Off..

Could not find Always Free Shipping, so I guess I am not using it...

Yeah,
I had this problem as well and it is a shipping module install problem.
Have a play around with them, turn on the Pickup module etc.

Go to the Modules ... Shipping ...

Remove all Shipping Modules ...

Install Flat ...

Install Free Shipping ... I am assuming you mean you have Free Shipping freeoptions installed ... as you said you are not using 0 weight for Free Shipping ...

Hi!

Can SSL cause problems with this?
I'm only using flat rate, it worked before i set the shop to use SSL (shared certificate, from my hosting provider). I've read all the threads about the problem, but couldn't figure it out yet...

I've set weight to my products (books), I have zones, currency, payment (COD) configured, still no luck.

Was not able to move any further with this checkout problem as I was away on vacation...

Anyway, I uninstalled all the shipping modules and I now have Flat Rate, Free Shipping Options and FREE SHIPPING! installed but I still cannot get past the first step.

I have set the Flat Rate to 200 yen, Free shipping options:Free Shipping when Total >=3000 yen, FREE SHIPPING! Is set but I have not changed any settings...

Are there any other prerequisites that need to be set? (e.g. The Payment section etc.)
