    Default plain text problem euro sign

    Hi!

    I read throught some threads that were discussing this ... and read a lot on other pages so.. now i have no idea what to do to fix the problem i have with the euro sign in plain text email.
    whatever i use as the euro sign with or without a "nbsp" behind it... with or without the plain text currency sign conversion rules in the admin / emailsettings.. i always get a ? or "€  ... or something alike.

    the header of the email of recieve in plain text is:
    Mime-Version: 1.0
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
    Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

    I can form a euro sign, mail it to myself but then outlook uses
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
    Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset=Windows-1252; reply-type=original

    as a charset.
    Can i change it somewhere for ALL text email?? Will it help??

    Thanks!!

    What version of Zen Cart are you running?

    In v1.3.x ... in the Configuration ... Email Options ...
    Convert currencies for Text emails
    What currency conversions do you need for Text emails?
    Default = £,£:€,€

    Use the € in the currency setting ... then let the translator for the email do its thing on text emails ...

    Hi,

    I did that ( removed even the nbsp ) but still it shows a ? in the email.

    Might it be something that has to do with the way i send email??
    The mail server maybe? ... do not think so but ...

    It could be the character set used while sending your emails, and what character sets your mailserver supports. Perhaps it's translating things when it receives it for sending.

    If you turn on the email archiving feature (Admin->Config->Email Options), and grab the email archive search add-on ( http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=198 ), then you can review the "sent" messages to see whether there was any incorrect translation taking place within Zen Cart prior to sending.

    Make sure that you are using this setting:
    Convert currencies for Text emails
    What currency conversions do you need for Text emails?
    Default = £,£:€,€
    It looks like you may have an extra & in there ...
