Bulk addition of 86 UK counties?

Hi all,

As pointed out elsewhere you need to configure your Zones so that your shipping quotes work. To that end I need to add all 86 UK counties to my (almost competed) online Zencart powered shop. I have a CSV separated list of these counties but don't have the SQL knowledge to import this list into the mySQL DB. My question is this:
1. Has anyone any pointers on how to achieve this?
2. Alternatively, is there such a thing as some sort of UK specific 3rd party addition to the same goal?

the last time I checked there were last than 30?

You can add them one by one in the admin, or download a zones contribution to see how they did it by sql.

No, it's not a typo, there really is 86 counties in the UK to best of my knowledge!

The 39 Counties of England have mostly existed largely unchanged since before 1066, the 13 Welsh ones (including Monmouthshire), like the 34 in Scotland, have been fixed in name and areas for over 400 years.

Although I really ought to put all of them on the site & am currently working/learning to achieve this, for the purpose of shipping quotes I think I can work round it. If I divide the UK into postal zones & establish postal rates for those zones the UK including some of the remote parts, cusomers can obtain accurate shipping costs.

Whether someone in say, Shetland, actually wants to buy from my site is a different matter entirely!

Are you implying that a UK counties zone contribution exists or to examine the workings of another?

ah I just re-read this, and it said the UK, not England so maybe there are a few more than 30 ;)

I was suggesting that if you download a zones contribution you could easily work out how to do the zones by sql by just changing a few values, it shouldnt be that hard.

PS I presume from your English that you are American, usually its the same cost for postage in the UK no matter where its sent
