Default Adjusting shop width using Classic Template

Hello, I have tried to adjust the width of the classic template to 100% using the mailWrapper css in the new stylesheet.
This only makes white on either side of the screen, so I then went into the old styles sheet and adjusted the .centreshop to 100% also. This worked and seemed to make the shop 100% fluid in the browser.

This made my shop look 100% fluid when viewing firefox and my products in the New and Features products boxes (in the centre of the screen) looked great. (they are set to two wide at the moment).
But when viewing in IE, the two columns of products are not showing and are only 1 column of products down the left hand side.

Can someone please help to confirm if I have adjusted the width of the classic tempalte correctly, and if so, why IE is not showing my content in the centreshop correctly?

    Many thanks,
    chief_wiggum

As you were advised in another thread on this same issue, convert to a template that is template_default based. Get rid of the 2 style sheet classic based template.

    Do you have a url??

You can readup as advised , search for the term template_default here and read the reasons that this is recommended.

Depending on what your cart skin looks like now, you might find it faster to download a template from the template section in the downloads area. Follow the instruction carefully and you will have a single css file based cart for your effort.

    Kobra, thanks for your reply.

I made the chnages as I mentioned, then I tried going into admin and changed the product columns to 3 instead of the 2 like it was. Then the problem went away and the site looked ok, so I canonly assume there is a problem with the template code when making this change in IE>

    Thanks for your reply,

    maci:

You are also using the classic template with 2 stylesheets and this is not advised for a new shop. You should convert to a template of your own based on the template default files.

Not that his issue cannot be fixed but this is only one of many other issues you will have using these 2 stylesheets.
