CSS advice needed: "clearBoth" div breaking my layout?

My site uses floats to create a left and right hand columns. The CSS for .clearBoth causes any content occuring after a clearBoth div to drop entirely out of my design framework (clearing the left and right columns!).

I've disabled clearBoth by setting it to "clear: none"; however, this monkeys with zen cart's layout as clearBoth is used extensively within forms and other layout. Looks like I'll have to do custom adjustments on every page... Any CSS suggestions to avoid this?

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, I am having a different problem. In fact, this isn't an IE bug at all - this is the correct functionality of CSS (and I'm using Firefox).
