side bars - ami missing something?

I am trying to get a couple more sidebars for my site. I have gone to admin, layout boxes controller and ensured that it is for my_template, not classic, but its saying that certain sidebars are on when they are not showing. im having no problems turning off the ones i dont want, but i am having trouble turning new ones on, as they appear to be on already! Something im missing?

    My url is http://www.climax-creation.com/zen-c...eset/index.php

I am trying to add 'featured products, tell a friend, and hopefully a 'subscribe to newsletter' (i notice there is an unsubscribe on the information bar, but how do i get a subscribe?)

    Many thanks in advance!

Featured products - do you have any featured products to display? If not, the box won't display.

Tell a friend - by default you have to be logged in for this to show. This makes it more difficult for spammers to use your site as a relay. You can change this in Admin > Configuration > Email Options.

Newsletter subscribe is account-based. Users can subscribe when they create or amend their accounts, rather than from a sidebox.

Yes and there are other triggers as well. Putting something into their cart can trigger display of the cart as a sidebox and as a navigation menu item.
