Strange Shipping with free and paid shipping products on same order

Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster :-)

I have set up shop, love the program, and just have a small bug.

We are offering CDs and videos that have free shipping, and it works if you just buy the cds, but when you combine that with an item that doesn't get free shipping, the price changes.

I'm using the Canada post module to determine prices.

Example: 1 CD $20, $0 shipping

1 art print $49.95, $7.13 shipping in canada

1 art print plus 1 cd, $69.95 plus $13.43 shipping


So.. if the shipping is free for the product, it shouldn't add to the shipping price if combined with another prodect... is there a workaround for this? I have the freeshipping module installed and seems to be working as the CDs are going for free.

Weight and dimensions for the CDs are set to 0 as well.

What Shipping Module(s) do you have enabled?

How are you indicating a Product is Free Shipping? 0 weight or Always Free Shipping?

How are you indicating Shipping is not Free? Weight or Item Count or ...

Thanks for the reply. I'm indicating free shipping by 0 weight, but also setting the items to always free shipping. For the other items, I adding the dimensions and weight in the Canada Post module to the item and setting to normal shipping rules.

I think it's also because it counts it as another box. I'm going to ship everything, no matter what the order in one box every time, using the dimensions of the largest item purchased? does that make a difference?
