    Default Problems with FedEx tpl_footer

    I've installed the FedEx module from Merlin, but the tpl_footer is not functioning properly.

    When I used the suggested filepath, the link to checkout_shipping no longer worked when I tried to do a test purchase. I tried instead replacing includes/templates/CUSTOM_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_footer.php, but that messed up my whole site - I got a "page not found" error from my browser & couldn't open any pages of the site. I also tried putting it in includes/modules/pages/checkout_shipping/.., but that didn't work either.

    I used WinMerge to compare the FedEx tpl_footer to that in template_default to try to isolate the parts relevant to FedEx, but they are nothing alike. I am using version 1.2.7. Is the file I received intended to go with 1.3?

    I looked in the forums and didn't find anyone else with this problem. I'd already checked many possible causes of my broken checkout_shipping link when I discovered that removing the tpl_footer solved the problem.

    I'm not sure where to go from here...

    I'd really appreciate input from Merlin or someone who's had a similar problem.

    Thanks!

    you need to change CUSTOM TEMPLATE to the name of your template
    the tpl_footer can be used in either

    Thanks for responding, but I already understand that part. Everything I've tried has been through my own custom template folders - I just didn't post the name of my custom template. I thought it would be more clear that way.

    Is the only point of this footer to display the following text on the checkout_shipping_address page?

    "FedEx service marks used by permission."

    It looks like you've got this tacked on to the end of the current copyright text? I think I can figure out how to code this into my tpl_footer page. Since I've already customized it quite a bit and even the default that I had originally doesn't seem to match up with yours, this might be the simplest solution.

    Please let me know if there's anything else I need to include, and I'll let you know how it goes.

    Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

    thats all thats there,

    Do you have a link to a site that's using this correctly so that I can see how it's supposed to look?

    just create a folder named checkout_shipping inside your custom template
    includes/templates/YOUR TEMPLATE/checkout_shipping/
    place a copy of the tpl_footer.php

    at the bottom place

    Well, I've been working on this, but I'm not quite getting the statement right to have it only appear on the checkout_shipping page. This is what I've got so far:

    <?php if ($_GET['main_page'] != CHECKOUT_SHIPPING) {
    ?>
    <tr>
    <td class="footerbottom">FedEx service marks used by permission.
    </td>
    </tr>
    <?php
    }
    ?>

    Am I close?

    NO
    quit making it dificult,
    there is an over ride for every page

    create a new FOLDER named checkout_shipping inside your custom template
    and put a stock tpl_footer.php
    so it will look like this
    includes/templates/your template/checkout_shipping/tpl_footer.php

    now open this file and put the code I posted earlier at the very BOTTOM of the file

    Sorry. I didn't refresh my page and see your previous post before adding mine. I thought of trying the override after I wrote that post since that's what it seemed you'd done in the module. I just did it and everything's working fine now.

    Thanks for sticking with me.
