Product Discounts based on quantity ordered

I have a customer store that sells wine and other non-wine products. I need to setup a discount like the following:
If a shopper orders 6-11 bottles of any type of wine, they receive a 10% discount.
If a shopper orders 12 or more bottles of any type of wine, they receive a 20% discount.

The wine ordered can come from different categories. The discount cannot apply to non-wine products.

Also, is there a way in the cart to show the shopper that the quantity discount has been applied to the product?

Quantity discounts on mixed products is not a feature of Zen Cart at this time.

Hi
I have searched the forum for about 2 hours or more and this problem seems the closest to mine. So if it can't be done- is there a close second that may solve the problem.
My dilema is :- I have backing tracks for sale in different product catagories and if I apply a discount structure for one procuct it doesn't allow it to be used for all the products in that catogory and sub-catagory, what I mean is if after choosing 5 different tracks(songs) they get them for £4 instead of £5 if they choose 10 from any of the products listed under the different sub catagories they get them for £3. I have tried many, many ways to achieve this but failed every time. Is there something I am not seeing! Can't see the wood from the trees!

We use this mod on two of our three sites! It will fill your needs and then some. Just wish I could add and edit the discounts without so many clicks in the Price Manager. {just a suggestion - great mod swguy}

Just to clarify John's remarks: the Quantity Discount contribution does not use the Products Price Manager - this is the native Zen Cart Quantity Discount feature.

Hey, I'm really sorry swguy. I thought that I had installed YOUR mod. Crap, can you tell me how yours is different? If I have thousands of discounts set up this way, can I edit them with Your mod? Will yours be easier?

I have a new site I am working on, what will I see different with

The native Quantity Discounts feature in Zen Cart is not a mod - it's part of the core code. It uses the products price manager to set discounts on a per item basis.

The Quantity Discounts contribution is a piece of software I wrote; it sets discounts globally based on various parameters. The help (including a comparison with the native QD mechanism) is here:
