reinstalled zen cart-need help

I reinstalled zen cart, every thing is fine except that my catagories and my products are missing. the pics of my products is still in my files but can't get my cats and products back to display on my web page.

if you re-installed zen then the database tables that held this information have been emptied,
thats why you cant find them,
the images are stored in a folder the rest is stored in the database

I did a Backup of my old database and restored it using my sql quarry. The backup database came from my host server.
