Quantity Discounts for 1.3

Quick Question: On the latest version of Zen-Cart here. I need to be able to do a 10% discount on 10 or more items purchased within ONE master category. But the products in this master category have been linked from other categories. Can this module do this? Or can this module atleast be set-up to INCLUDE master (top-level) categories as opposed to EXCLUDE sub-categories? If not, what module should I use.

And I just had another client ask me about setting up another quantity discount. 15% off for one item, 25% off of two items, and 30% off of three or more items. All in the same MASTER category. Is it possible to set this up with this module? Note that I would prefer to INCLUDE the master category for the discount as opposed to EXCLUDING all the categories that the discount doesn't apply to. This client constantly needs to add sub-categories.

Question 1: master categories are different from top level categories. Read this:

You can include or exclude in Quantity Discounts depending on how you structure the code; please see the FAQ for examples.

Question 2: you can't do this with Quantity Discounts; see your email for other options.

Thanks for the addon. I'm using it for discount per # of items ordered, but I was wondering if there was a way to get minimum units to act as one item.

Ex.

If a product must be purchased in units of 4, and the customer purchased 20, I would like for the discount to act as though 5 items were purchased, not 20.

Is this possible?

You'd have to write code; nothing is built in to do this.

Right what am I doing wrong, I have uploaded the two required files more than once but the 'Quantity Discount' option doesn't want to appear, I thought it may be file permissions but this doesn't appear to be the case, on paper this is a very simple mod to install, so what am I doing wrong

Hi Scott,

Have a question about your Quantity Discounts contrib... This is my situation:

I have Products with and without (native) quantity breaks where those with breaks are entered as Price (versus percentage).

Simple enough, but when I ad a special on an item with a quantity break, I get discount applied to first non-breaking column (as I assume it should), but no way to have discounts for further breaks.

My understanding is if quantity breaks are set to break by percentage and on special, you CAN have your quantity break numbers generated for you, but unfortunately for me I MUST use the assigned price.

Does your contrib address this issue at all?

It seems to me from everything that I've read that I may be forced to add a new table, say "products_discount_quantity_special" ... or (more simply) update quantity discounts for specials items to reflect specials discounts. However, this would not automatically revert back to non special pricing at end of term.

What do you think?

The special changes the base price; my QD is applied on top of this updated price.

I encourage you to try the software yourself to see if it meets your needs.
