Default Advice on best way to migrate store

I own the domain name http://www.guyflash.com and have a Yahoo store currently running at that domain.

I want to keep this store on line, but set up a new Zen Cart store at a different hosting service.

When I'm through testing the Zen Cart store, I want to close the Yahoo store and start using the Zen Cart store.

However, the Zen Cart store will of necessity have been constructed under a different domain name (say, www.test.com) since www.guyflash.com will be in use during its construction.

What's the easiest and least messy way to make the switch? Ultimately, of course, when people go to www.guyflash.com I will want them to come to my Zen Cart store...

    Thanks.

The re-pointing of a domain name is something your hosting company can work out for you. It's a pretty simple process, but requires that you understand the workings of nameservers etc. The host for your new server should be able to help you with the process, typically without any/much extra cost.

I guess I didn't make my question clear. Let me try again.

First I set up a Zen Cart on www.test_domain.com at New_Web_Host

Next I kill my www.guyflash.com store, currently being hosted by Yahoo

Next I move my domain www.guyflash.com to New_Web_Host

Next I move my Zen Cart from www.test_domain.com at New_Web_Host to www.guyflash.com at New_Web_Host

Is my Zen Cart going to work?

Yes, you have the right concept.... with a few configuration edits.
