Default Sales Tax Calculated including Shipping Charge

Hello Everyone, I searched extensively on the forum before posting this, but I'm sorry if I didn't see a post that had this answered. I am running a zen cart for a company in Seattle, and according to the State of Washington Tax Laws, the Shipping and Handling charge is subject to sales tax as well. Is there an easy way (other than hacking the php code..which i'm not opposed to doing) to have the sales tax calculated based on the (SUBTOTAL + SHIPPING CHARGE)? I.E. in our situation:
    .088 * (SUBTOTAL + SHIPPING CHARGE).

I have been successful in getting sales tax to work for Washington Orders, however the sales tax is just based on the sub total, however, I will need it to also take into accoun the shipping charge.

Am I misinformed that the sales tax needs to be paid on the shipping? I haven't seen anyone bring up this question. I could be mistaken, and i hope i am, but if not, and Washington is one of the only places that requires sales tax on the shipping, then i'm gonna have to make something happen.

    Thanks for any help!

What are your settings in Admin> Modules> Order Total> Shipping?

Thanks! I didn't even notice that option on the shipping modules! I'll just add them to the taxable goods and be on my way!

Thanks, as always, for the quick help. Zen Cart rocks!

To add shipping as a taxable item go to:
    Modules>shipping>(select method I.E UPS) >Edit> taxclass >Taxable Goods
