    Database Patching

I am in the midle of moving form one hosting company to another and I have had them restore the database. Now I get a message that sates "Your database appears to need patching to a higher level, See Tools->Server Information to review patch Level"

I have a couple fof questions about this

    1) What am I looking for in the Tools->Server section?
    2) Wheer would I find the updates that I require?
    3) My Sql database is managed by my new host provider, so what do I need to tell them to do here?

Sorry for all the questions but I am a new Zenner taking over from the person who built the site and now he is working full time. So I need to have my store up and running the way it should and was running.

    Thanks for all the help.

I am using Zen Cart 1.3.0.2
    Database Patch Level: 1.3.0.1

Make sure you back up your site and your database then go to yoursite.com/zc_install. On the third page will be a button at the bottom for database upgrade. Use that to bring the database level up to that of the cart.

1.3.x.x ZenCart throws an error if you don't rename the zc_install directory. You may have done that and forgot about it. Regardless of what you rename it to, it will still perform the database upgrade.

If you deleted the directory, simply get the zc_install directory from the 1.3.0.2 full fileset and reload the directory to your site. It should wind up in www.kidsbargainoutet.com/shop/zc_install

OK I can't seem to find the upgrade download page anymore. I clicked on it from my admin area and now that my cart is up to date, the link disappeared and can't find it on here anywhere. Do you know where it is? Because I must ahve deleted the directory.

    Thx :)

OK now it has the same error as before and a new one yelling at me for keeping the directory there.

Warning: Installation directory exists at: /home/passion/public_html/kidsbargainoutlet/shop/zc_install. Please remove this directory for security reasons.

Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Admin->Tools->Server Information to review patch levels.

    ?????

    Thx :)

you can rename the directory to anything and it will still do the work you need.

go to yoursite.com/anything/index.php, go to the third page, disregard errors it gives you, go to the bottom of the page and click on database upgrade NOT install.

OK thanks. Good thing you said to avoid all teh errors cause I kept getting them but when I checked my database patch level it was upgraded so i guess it worked.

    Thx :)

If I upgraded to this patch, do I still need to do the security updates that I saw in the announcements forum?

    Thx

    YES !!!!

The security patches are required for v1.3.0.2 and earlier.
