Email not working

I sent myself a couple emails and neither of them made it to my gmail inbox. I tried once with the "sendmail" option and once with the "smtp" option.

I'm using the latest version of zencart, host is godaddy on a linux server. My Email configuration is below.

Ok I guess I was to quick to assume, the first one I sent with "sendmail" finally came.

The only problem is it had weird letters at the end of what I typed

"This is a test email to see how everything works@CRLF"

You'll get some @CRLF's depending on server configuration if you're using HTML messages with embedded </P> or <BR> tags.
This is fixed in the next release.

Hi,

I'm new to Zen Cart. I think it is wonderful. I have been testing previous version and everything has been working ok.

Since I have downloaded the latest version I too find it difficult to get the email working. I've tried all possible settings from the CP but nothing works.

Is it possible that I have omitted a simple permission setting?

Does anyone know the answer?

Sorry, me again.

This is the message I actually get when I try to send an e-mail from Tools>Send Email:

ERROR: Failed sending email to: "Claudio INGROSSO" with subject: "------" Could not instantiate mail function. Please check Admin->Configuration->Email Options->Email Transport.

Naturally I tried all options. Can anybody help?

You might try using SMTPAUTH, and including the SMTP email password in the appropriate setting.
