Default Transfering servers. DNS already changed but need to back up database

I'm moving servers from Dreamhost to opensource hosting that was offered here on Zen-cart. I basically followed the steps exactly on the Wiki Help. The problem is Opensource hosting requires that I have the DNS propgated before I can create the new database. Now I need to backup my old database and I can't access my old PhpmyAdmin due to the fact that my DNS server has already changed.

mysql.lareefs.com no longer works and therefore I can't do any backups. I can't seem to access it from my Dreamhost control panel either.

    Any ideas?

instead of mysql.lareefs.com do any of these work:

    66.228.121.252
    66.33.201.141

If not, you'll need to contact dreamhost and ask them the ipaddress of your mysql server.

Or, you could use your dreamhost control panel to do a full site backup or just a mysql backup for you. That'll create a file on the server which you can download by FTP.

I have a full site back up (basically downloaed all the files of my cart through ftp). Is there anyway to extract what I need to transfer servers? I can't seem to find the back up function in the dreamhost CP.

Unless you had done a database backup into a file before transferring, you won't have it in the files area of your old server.

You'll have to talk to DH support.

Let's say I don't care about records on my hits, my customers and orders. I just want to keep my products, templates, images, custom sidebox, and stuff like that. Would I still need the database backup?

Worse comes to worse I can always just set the DNS back to dreamhost and then access it then right?

BTW, Opensourcehosting kicks ######! I always just thought Zen-Cart was just inherently slow. If you sign up through them Zen-Cart gets a donation and that helps them make the cart better. This thing blazes through everything!

    It's

    ns1.dreamhost.com
    ns2.dreamhost.com
    ns3.dreamhost.com

Funny, when I went back to the Dreamhost CP it still shows that under my WhoIS information.

According to dreamhost's nameservers, your IP is:

    Name: mysql.lareefs.com
    Address: 208.97.155.213

So, you could use the indicated IP address instead of "mysql.lareefs.com" as you used to do.
