Padding - main page and right sideboxes

I've been tweaking my site for days and days - I've managed to get quite a bit customized but I can't figure out how to:

1. White 'space' underneath the header/logo image
a. How do I remove it completely?
b. How would I change the color - what part of the css is it?
c. How do I add in navigation buttons or links to other parts of my site outside of the zencart?

2. Padding (?) - where is the code in the css that I need to modify?
a. For main center section - I want only about 1-2 pixels of the white background to show.
b. See the left sideboxes/columns and the spacing that is above the dark pink bar (Categories) - on the right sideboxes, the black bars are flush against the top - I'd like to add some space similar to the left sideboxes.
