    Default Favicon in 1.3.5

    Hi Everyone,

    I was trying to set up a favicon for my new 1.3.5 zen cart store. I tried the steps outlined in the FAQ and in various threads in the forums. I don't know if this was suggested before, but here is what I did.

    1. Upload favicon.ico to your root directory. (Look at the Wikipedia entry for more information on how to create and format favicons.)

    e.g. http://www.myzenstore.com/favicon.ico

    2. Edit your /includes/languages/english/meta_tags.php file from:

    //define('FAVICON','favicon.ico');
    to
    define('FAVICON','favicon.ico');

    It's now that simple and it works in the address bar in IE6. Someone should update the FAQ.

    Take care,
    Peter

    Technically browsers should pick it up automatically if you upload a favicon.ico file to your site.
    The define is intended to allow you to use a different name to override default behaviour.
    However, since you like the results, stick with them !

    I know that browsers are supposed to pick it up. However, this way, IE6 will show it in the address bar too, not just the bookmarks.

    Did you try re-bookmarking your site?

    Hi wickedklown,

    I loaded your site in IE6 and the favicon didn't show. I then added it to my favorites and the favicon did show in the list. When I closed IE and reopened it, the favicon showed in the address bar. I think that's the problem with my plan, IE6 will only show the favicon in the address bar if the site is already bookmarked.
