    Multiple Products, Same attribute?

I am sure this is covered somewhere, but after reading a ton of stuff, I havent found it yet, so figured its easier to just ask here.

I carry over 100 tumbled stones on my website. I would like to use one attribute
size, weight for many different entries. Is there anyway to do that instead of entering in each one to each stone as i go along?

    For instance....
    Moss Agate
    Small $0.50 Weight 0.0125
    Medium + $0.50 Weight +0.02
    Large + $2.00 Weight + 0.03

I want to add the exact same attributes to several other tumbled stones. Is there an easier way than to do it one by one?

    thanks!

In Attributes Controller, there are buttons at the top right for "Copy to Product" or "Copy to Category".

You can use these to copy an attribute once you have it set up right the first time. The copied attributes can then be tweaked if you desire.

By the way, you may also want to consider presenting your pricing differently. I think that

    Small $0.50 Weight 0.0125
    Medium + $0.50 Weight +0.02
    Large + $2.00 Weight + 0.03

would make many people think the medium costs $0.50 and the large costs $2.00, instead of $1.00 and $2.50.

You would be better off using Price by Attributes (option in product creation page), setting the base price to 0, and setting each size to its full price (make the price prefix blank instead of +):

    Small ($0.50) Weight 0.0125
    Medium ($1.00) Weight +0.02
    Large ($2.50) Weight +0.03

You can set the default prefix in Catalog > Product Types > Edit Layout.

    See this Wiki article.
