Default prices in as dollars, out as pounds

I'm in the UK, and I set my country to UK, but when I put prices in, apparently they are still going in as dollars. When I view the product, the price is listed in pounds, but it's not the amount I put in; it's a smaller amount, as though they're being converted internally.

Where can I go to change this?

    Thanks

Check your admin > localization > currencies > and insure that you have pounds entered and set as the default. Once the default, it should be the base currency for product entry.

    I didn't realise I had - I certainly didn't do so intentionally. My apologies.

Thanks - it's set as default, but the value was set to 0.5something.

Along these lines (and I'll start a new thread if that's more appropriate), how do you keep the exchange rates up to date? Do you have to do it manually?

So did you see the "Update Currencies" button on that page? Clicking this will reset the exchange rates. If pounds are the default they should be showing as "1" with the others as some factor of pounds.

One can update this manually, or depending on your host, you can setup a cron job to automate it.
