I began using Stamps.com, which worked pretty well when it worked. They had support & software issues which may be better now. I did receive a notice a few weeks ago that a major bug reported in Nov 2012 was finally corrected.

I switched to ShipStation.com and things have been problem free for the past couple of years. More options. Filtering and rules are customizable. Includes Endicia and Express1 USPS accounts which can be used interchangeably. Express1 has better rates for Priority Mail than Endicia but Endicia has better rates for other services. Both have the full USPS product selection available for use.

ShipStation also incorporates your UPS and/or Fedex accounts.

It automatically imports orders and has the option to "Update" when you click the button. Stamps.com updated but there was no user control over an 'on-demand' order update.

If you are shipping 20 packages a day, the labor savings will more than offset the fee for the basic account. Like any new software package, there is a learning curve but I didn't find it too steep. You can reprint labels more than once if you have a glitch. Stamps.com only allows 1 retry. PlainPaper 8.5x11, self-adhesive 8.5x11 or most 4x6 label printers.

Apparently not using this module given lat9's assessment (which I trust since she is a GREAT developer)

That's one person's opinion ...
Seems the only FREE option is USPS Click-N-Ship site..

I use Click-N-Ship because it is free. Are there any other solutions out there that will allow for easy batch processing of shipping labels... for free? I'm aware of Paypal shipping, but it doesn't allow you to print regional flat rate postage.

I process around 20 orders daily and have had to spend a good amount of extra time filling out label information since this module stopped working.

What has everyone else resorted to since this module stopped working? As of right now, I am filling in everything manually on the newly (and poorly) designed Click-n-Ship site which can take me around 30 minutes per day when it only took me 5 minutes before.

If time is valued to you, just pay for a service as it would give you a return far greater than the price you pay. Most have free trials which you will want to test the interface and features. Pick one that fits your needs the best and go with it.

Installed on 1.5.3. Merged orders.php. Button shows up in orders. CLicking it brings up USPS CNS web for entering shipping info. But nothing is filled in. Tried Chrome, IE, and Firefox.
    Ideas?

I have been in contact with the US Postal Service team that manages the Click-N-Ship process for the past several weeks on resolving the autocomplete form/field property issue that busted this plugin and many other similar eCommerce system processes. The case I originally submitted was escalated about three weeks ago, and since then I have discussed the issue with a USPS eCommerce manager. Like many others I am hoping that the autocomplete properties on the Click-N-Ship form fields can be switched to on, or another simple resolution implemented that would allow a simple method of auto-populating the Click-N-Ship recipient name and address fields. I am not betting the house on it, but I have requested a resolution to the auto-fill Click-N-Ship recipient field issue several times in the past, and this time the USPS seems aware and interested in genuinely resolving the Click-N-Ship form auto-fill issue. If I get any word back on the case I will definitely post back. Thanks, Brian

I believe you hit it on the head. I am sure they are many out there like me that does not have the volume to offset the cost the paying partners charge. I wish someone would incorporate this into USPS mod. I don't know enough about programing to attempt this or where I live in West Texas programers are not plentiful.
