Well IMHO, this really needs to stay a separate module and not be incorporated into the USPS module.. Not everyone needs this functionality, and the basic USPS module doesn't need the BLOAT of features that not everyone uses..

That said, I suspect that the TIME investment required to develop this module is why no one has tackled it.. Not everyone is willing to make a time investment for FREE.. If you really want this feature, then it would probably make sense to invest in the cost of having it developed for your business.. (developers don't HAVE to be in West Texas)

Looks like stamps.com has acquired ownership of the best zencart integrated shipping services. ShipWorks, ShipStation and e-stamps seem to be owned by them now and since they took over ShipStation it hasn't worked for us. The scale fails in the new interface, tracking number post backs are inconsistant and there are mulitple problems with printing shipping labels. ShipWorks software is more intuitive, but will not use our Dymo without a work around and you have to pay for an additional Stamps.com account. SHIP200 looks cool, but won't use a Dymo printer. Feel really lost. Oh, and Stamps.com will not work with zencart on a Linux server. Seems there is a market out there for a good solution but if USPS wants to corner this market we are all stuck with large monthly fees.

Have you contacted ShipStation support regarding your issues? They have always been receptive to me.

IF, the OLD interface worked for you, it is still available by a single click for users who do not like the new version.

$25/month doesn't fall into my category of "being stuck with large monthly fees"

Last I looked, Stamps.com all they had was a desktop tool that only worked on Windows machines.. Doubtful that has changed..

The old interface of ShipStation no longer recognizes our scale since we first tried to switch over, no longer post back the tracking, and the new interface will not recognize the printer switch from label to scanform.

Yes, and yes... we've spent hours and days on the phone with their very earnest tech people and they were not charging us $25 but $45 a month. When we realized this they could only refund back three months. I realize they are in transition with the stamps.com purchase and they are trying to be helpful, but zencart already does what most of the bells and whistles on this interface is trying to do so we don't need the hassle and the lost time from our work day.

Another problem is whenever the password changes in zen admin, it refuses to load new orders and this has consistantly happend on a monday. We've had to go in and change the dates in the database to get them to load. Also, this program they need us to install called syncstation is wreaking havoc with other peripherals.

So these have been real problems for us consuming time and money. Just say'n... it's not for everyone.

On a lighter note, despite shipworks saying we'd need to pay for a stamps.com account on top of their monthly fee, Stamps just told me this morning that's not so.

I like the Shipworks software except it would be nice to see images so I'm working on that. Staff are also very earnest and helpful, like shipstation's folks, but this transition seems to be having it's impact with software and an odd understanding of the fees involved as it's been communicated to us.

    Fair enough.

We created an admin login for ShipStation and limited access to necessary tables (zc 1.5.3). Since SS does not login via the zencart admin, there is never a need to change a password for SS to access order information.

Re: Stamps.com not functioning on linux. They must have made a bunch of changes. Our site has always been linux and never had problems with Stamps.com not being able to access database tables. We got tired of 3 or more Stamps.com updates per week that involved other flavors of ecommerce but support wouldn't talk unless you had the latest version even if the changes did not involve the zencart portion of the code.

Wow... I didn't know I could do that... yeah, it seems to be in 1.5.1 too. I'll play with that in case we go back.

This is my first post, ever. So, my sincere apologies if I come across too naive in my post :)
I have just updated ZenCart from a 2 years old version 1.3.? to 1.5.4. I am in a desperate need of using this "Click-n-Ship Autofill Button". My developer, which I am paying, said it is not supported with ZC 1.5.4 version, correct?
How much effort do you think it would take to make it work? Knowing that, I can decide to pay him to fix it, and I will gladly share the update with the community.
    Thanks!

    I'm using MySQL5, PHP 5.6

The current USPS Click-n-Ship has not worked since the USPS "improved" their website a couple of years ago.

    Hi mbacaloni

There are a lot of us that would use Click-n-ship and I for one would pay for some of the cost to fix it. Find out from your developer how much it would cost and let me know.

You still can install it and part of it still works which saves a lot of time. That being the button will take you to the proper form to use but you have to fill it out.

    Thanks.
    Larry
