We have 3 shipping methods active. Flat rate, store pick-up and Free Shipping options for orders over $50. If an order is over $50 it automatically defaults to free shipping, this is fine. When an order is under $50 it doesn't default to any shipping method. This is also fine as it makes the customer choose a method. The problem is that we are being contacted by frustrated customers not getting past the first checkout page. If NO method is selected it just keeps dumping you back at the first page with no error message. It does say the customer needs to select a shipping method in the text, but what customers read that.
I don't know if this is normal if if we've got a bug. If it's normal it might be worth considering an error message in a newer version.
