How to move search bar into nav bar?

I have a problem with my layout right now. I want to move the search bar onto the open space on the menu bar right above the sidebar. How should I go about doing this? I cant seem to figure it out. Thanks.

By default, the search function is in the nav bar...Where do you want to move it to??

ZenCart Version and url would assist .

Your custom nav bar is not functional so I could not view what method you are using or intend to use to enable the links represented.

From the tpl_header.php file is what you will need to link to the search function when you create your custom nav bar links..

Think this out as in the current top nav bar there are functions that do not display until a customer starts to place items in the cart i.e. shopping cart & checkout, along with the login/logout flop.
