My zencart has stopped running!! Help!!!

For some reason my zencart shop has stopped running. When I try to open either the shop or the admin this error message pops up, and really nothing else:

1016 Can't open file: 'db_cache.MYI' (errno: 145)

Anyone who knows what to do? I called the support on my web hotel provider, and they thought it was because of the settings in PHP4.

agreed, you should search out a better host...

iv had my zc up for 2 years without problem (/me knocks on wood)

i had some issues before i started to clean the site regularly...

remove the admin log, prune the email achrive, and remove any customers which havnt been active in the last 60days....

or at least that is how i handle things, and i havnt had an error like that since.

I was in touch with the host today. According to them there are no limit on the size of the database. That is, the database can be as big as my entire space on their server, 250mb. Ive only used about 10% of that.

Any other ideas???

Is there any way I could have set the size of the database, and limited it somehow?

Or could it be that the people at my host company knows just as little about this as I do?

They don't appear to be the brightest bulbs ... have they suggested that you try a repair on your database? It looks like there may have been a MySQL crash that damaged the table ...

Or, if that fails you could try rebuilding that table ...

Try to get a backup if possible then try a repair on your database ...

ok, this may seem stupid but.....
I like to keep my stuff cleaned up,etc.....so how exactly do you remove the admin log and prune the email archive?

Thanks for that linda, my problem now is that i have no idea how to attack these things now that neither the admin nor the store works. I am merely a designer and online merchant... Do you know where I could seek help from people who knows a bit more about this than I do?

Can you get into your web site Control Panel or phpMyAdmin ...

If so, in phpMyAdmin you can look at the tables in your database and run the backup on the database as well as the repair on the database ...
