Out of Stock Settings in Zen Cart!

I am having problem with the out of stock settings in the Zen Cart. I am not displaying the qty in the Zen cart, so customers don't know how many of the qty we have in stock.

Lets say If I have 1 in stock and they try to add 2. They get the message something like the attached image "zen_1". that looks like, there is nothing in stock even if I have 1 in stock.

I want to check on how other people are implementing the out of stock options. Please provide me your feedback.

go to admin/configuration/stock/

click subtract stock to false

that should do the job for you.
