Can't Log Onto Admin?

Well, looks like the situation is under control. I'm thinking some files got dropped from your FTP or something to that effect. The main thing is that you have your store operational and it seems fine.

hi, I have a completely same problem as BLACKHAT, I reinstall all twice but the problem still exists. what shall I do? anyone met the same thing?

I search all forum, but it seems no way to sovle my problme cannot find the admin area.
I reinstall all twice, the online shop is ok, but admin is alwyas blank, however, through ftp I can find those necessary files installed in right places.

there are few methods I tried.but all do not work.
"There are 2 approaches to addressing this:
1. When you DO log into the admin area, turn off version checking here:
Admin->Config->My Store->Show if version update available ... set this to 0/false/off.
2. If you can't log into the admin area at all, try editing the /admin/includes/local/skip-version-check.ini file and set the version-check line to "off".Updating the INI file as described bypasses this auto-check
another guy's method:
"1. Admin pages won't show at all, or show without styling.
In this case, try temporarily renaming the /admin/.htaccess file to htaccess_bak to see if things operate differently. If they do, then you need to work with your webhost to find the right way to use the supplied .htaccess security protections on your site."
I even cannot find this file, but I m using the latest version. wierd.
"2. Something may be wrong with the way your site is configured to handle PHP "sessions".
This is more difficult to resolve. Start by clearing your browser cache and clearing all cookies. Then check to be sure that you do NOT have any software firewall applications running on your PC, as they may have been set to "disable session cookies". Also, make sure your browser IS allowed to accept cookies, esp from your own domain. Check your server's errorlog to determine if any errors are occurring at the time of the failure to login."
This way does not work at all.

i got this error message when try to go to admin panel

how to fix it?

I'm gonna suggest to the people who are having the same issues as I am to do a fresh install. I'm not talking about just going to your zc_install directory and following the prompts again. I'm talking about wiping the server clean of everything Zen Cart related. Back up your pages (which should be done every so often anyways), delete everything you can off of the server. and only after that is done do a fresh install of the zc_install directories to your server.

The first time I tried to re-install, I left everything on the server and pulled up my zc_install directory. Nothing changed, and I still had the problem where it didn't recognize the admin area. This was only solved by me wiping the server clean and doing a fresh install of all of the files.

Looking back I think the issue was when I originally transferred all of the install files from my FTP to the server, I don't think all of the files transferred right. Could be a corruption or a missing file all together, but they definately didn't transfer right.

I hope this is of some help to you folks. I know it's a pain, but Zen is definately worth it. It's a hellova program if you can get it to install right.

actually i forgot to CHMOD some subfolder.. i miss read on it when i try to install zencart for the first time

I install everything again in a new subdomain although I m sure I did absolutely fresh installment twice in different domain. The same problem. see,

ok, finally I know how to deal with the problem


go into your files using ftp

You will need to go to the zen cart folders and open the
includes/configure.php

at the top of the code you will see where it says define SSL set it to false,
save and close
re upload

then do the same in admin/includes/configure.php

this is going to turn the SSL ( https ) off.
you will need to find out from them if they have shared ssl and the URL,
