A quick attribute question - dont understand option

hello there.

I use to have this manual thing for the admin panel, while it didnt cover everything for the admin panel, it did have some usefull information... i cant seem to find it now... i did a search for admin documents and such, but didnt find it..

can someone point in the correct direction to download another copy of it? thanks

now. my question is simple, and was prolly answerd in the little handbook thing, but the option when copying attribs to other products/catagorys "Update with new settings/prices, then add new ones"
What does this mean? i dont really understand whats its telling me. or when i should use it..

If the same attributes exist, should they be updated as in deleted and readded ... and should missing ones be added ...
