Newest First?

How would I make the items in a category show the newest first?

admin > config > all listing > Display Product Display - Default Sort Order > set to "7" Date Added
And insure that admin > config > product info > Products Info - Products Option Name Sort Order > is "0"

Not positive that this will net you exactly what you want as this might be the overriding factor
admin > config > layout settings > Categories/Products Display Sort Order

ok well on a 1.3.6 version of the cart this is not working in the category display.
so I am on this.
any one got the knowledge where the query for the product listing is done?

i don't see any SQL code in that file
