Is there any way to set up the coupon system to provide one when a person signs up?

I'm looking for a way to use or modify the coupon system so that I can have it produce a coupon for the person when they sign up. They can either use the certificate online, or at our brick and mortor place. Each one would need it's own separate code number which would be checked at the store or online.

Anyone have any idea how to do this or modify the system?

Create your coupon or Gift Cert and turn on the Feature to send it to New customers in the Admin> Configuration> Coupons/ Gift Certificates.

Actually, what I am looking for is for it to do it automatically.

I'm trying to do it so it works like this:

1. Person signs up.
2. System accepts person.
3. System creates a coupon with an individual code for the person so that they can use it or print it out. This coupon can only be used by that person.
4. The system emails the coupon out.

All this should be done automatically without my having to go into the system to do it.

To generate a unique coupon per person vs a coupon that everyone can only use once would need to be custom coded ...

Also, you are saying apply this automatically vs they get the email and apply it themselves ...

While all this could be developed, it would need to be customized vs the existing automated coupon that the customer can recieve when they create their account and can only be used one time per customer ...
