    Default Can't edit/install/uninstall UPS USPS modules - 403

I have a store that I recently setup. It is up and working. UPS is installed. USPS is not installed. This problem does not effect the users at all; check-out works fine.

When I go to Modules->Shipping, it displays the shipping options. If I click "Flat Rate", I am given the option to "Install". If I click "United Parcel Service" or "United States Postal Service" then I get a 403 error. "You don't have permission to access /admin/modules.php on this server."

    Can someone diagnose this problem?

    Thanks

You have the Admin Levels or Admin Profiles contribution installed but have not configured "your" admin account to be allowed to modify those modules.

I don't have the "Admin Levels" contribution installed. The only installed contribution is the "News" section. Also, shouldn't it give me real error, such as "You are not allowed to modify this section?" That is, if I did have that contribution installed.

I have not changed any code. The only difference between a fresh install is the news section and a custom template.

I did move the site from a development server to a production server. I had to update the auto_increment options on some of the tables to fix a different 403 bug.

I just checked, the primary account as has the same problem.

    Thanks for the response.

Hmmm ... I did misread that error message. It's very similar to the admin levels denial message.

What's your server's errorlog saying when that error appears in your browser?

The only thing that the error log shows is "File does not exist: /public_html/403.shtml" because I have not yet specified an error document for Forbidden files yet.

I've not seen this before. Perhaps you can re-upload the /admin/modules.php file and perhaps also the /includes/modules/shipping files to be sure they're not corrupt? Should also redo the language files in /includes/languages/english/modules/shipping

Be sure you don't have any *.bak files in those folders.
