    Default PayPal IPN error

Hi there. I am getting a problem that seems to be common:

Someone makes a payment via paypal and we get an email without any details. Nothing is logged in Admin.

We've gone through the whole process several times including making sure there is bidirectional communications; all seems fine.

We when click on customers-PayPal IPN we get this error too:

    in:
[select count(*) as total from paypal as p left join orders as o on o.orders_id = p.zen_order_id]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Couldn't find any posts that cleared it up.

Having a similar problem with PayPal IPN currently I'm on their testing system sandbox. ZenCart sends the cart to paypal and then when I pay by entering a credit card. I get a thanks message from paypal. I the press return to merchant site. I get a thank you screen. However the order count is not updated and if I check there is no record of that order.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    George

I have never had any reliable success with PayPal's sandbox.

So, I never trust it ... and also don't support troubleshooting with it.

Here's all the troubleshooting steps summarized:

I have solved The problem at least the one that stopped me it was the taxes mismatch Look

    below

Mon Oct 2006 22:58 -- IPN WARNING::Currency/Amount Mismatch. Details: PayPal email

address = ********** AT hotmail DOT com
    -> | mc_currency = USD | submitted_currency = USD | order_currency = USD | mc_gross =

    9.72 | converted_amount = 9.00 | order_amount = 9

Zen and paypal have not been set in the taxes Paypal is charging tax in your state and zen

is not so either go to paypal and remove local Taxes or go to zen and add local taxes

During development of my store I'd passworded the directory to stop others entering and buying prior to the luanch of the site. This blocked the PAYPAL IPN return. Once I removed the password access everything worked OK. I havnt tested this whilst the store is in UNDER MAINTENANCE MODE but this may cause the same issues

Paypal doesn't work while down-for-maintenance either.
