UPS XML commercial vs residential

I can't seem to find anything about this in the forums, so I'm sorry if this has been answered before.

We got a call from a customer needing to ship to a commercial address (and, of course, wanting commercial rates) but it seems that with the UPS XML mod you have to set the Quote Type to either Commercial OR Residential. Is there somewhere that the customer can specify one or the other or have I possibly set things up wrong for this?

I'm currently using 1.2.6d (upgrading to 1.3.5 very soon). Maybe this is something that I need to configure a certain way for the upgrade.

Also, how is the default UPS mod working for 1.3.5?

You are correct. We do not have that functionality at this time. May I suggest you put in a suggestion, in the suggestion forum. To have Zen Cart be able to collect this info at sign in. Then I could add a new switch in the UPS module to auto select the quote type.

...and how are you going to prevent abuse? I know commercial rates are cheaper and if I was asked which I wanted I would say commercial ...
