Localhost Installation - can't import database

I have XAMPP running as localhost on my Windows XP Pro machine, and have successfully installed Zen Cart 1.3.5 several times with the intent to practice with things like the improved attributes controller, Image Handler, etc. I set permissions by going to the appropriate files/folders in htdocs and ticking or unticking 'read only'.

I have been trying to import my database from my live site (Version 1.3.2) using my most recent back up copy.

I named the database the same as the live one when I installed the localhost Zen Cart. The database imports in phpMyAdmin (localhost), but does not show up in the store.

    ../store/includes/configure.php
    ../store/admin/includes/configure.php
both correctly state the database name.

XAMPP has PHP Version 5.1.6; MySQL 5.0.24a-community
Host has PHP Version 4.4.3; MySQL 4.1.21-standard
    If that makes any difference.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, or where to look to figure this out. This is my first experience with databases.

Would sure appreciate a bit of direction so I can get this going.

    TIA,
    Sue

Do both databases use the same table-prefixes (if any)?

If so, then you most likely have a version-conflict in your MySQL export/import process, such that the format of the export version isn't compatible with the required format for your import version. To find out, do an export of your "admin" table, from both systems, and post the results here. There will be a need to reconcile the differences.

Hmmm ... I see you have resolved the issue in your duplicate post on the same topic:
