    Default PayPal and selected currency

I set up a cart for a Canadian business and switched on the PayPal payment module. The site will only wants to accept Canadian dollars but the first two transactions that came through were USD even though the buyers were Canadian. I originally had the currency type as "selected" but have now changed it to Canadian only. I'm still not sure why the original transactions defaulted to USD though. Are there other places I need to check to make sure that PayPal gets a Canadian dollar transaction? I looked in the database on the first transactions and the mc_currency field was set to USD.

    Thanks much,

    John Moore

    Hi Superprg,

It shows USD when the customers make their payment on the PayPal page. Everything in the cart shows as Canadian dollars but gets converted to USD in PayPal. I wasn't sure if it was something I was sending to PayPal to tell it to convert or if it was how the PayPal account was set up.

well I guess when it comes to the paypal page, it all depends on what currency customer is paying in..

You must use the official "CAD" as the currency code, not some of the other unofficial types such as CAN or CDN.

Then when the order hits PayPal, it'll be handled in CAD if that's what your customer is shopping with.
