upgrading - DB issues

Ok, I finally attemtped to make the leap to 1.3.5

was working on importing my old db, and I get this error

1054 Unknown column 'startdate' in 'field list'
in:
[select startdate, counter, session_counter from zen_counter_history where startdate='20061003']

anyone know what this means?

Did you run the installer (zc_install) over your DB? Even if you upgrade your files manually, you still need to run the install in order apply new version changes to the database.

i did not... i installed on a different folder, and then tried to export, import my old database.

any way i can get the original database to import into the newer site, so I can at least get my site back up?

Sure, set up the new site files in your web directory, then go to your browser and browse to the zc_install folder (you'll have to type in "/zc_install" manually). When presented with the install screen, click "Upgrade Database" at the bottom.

I should note that this is all covered extensively in the FAQ, wiki, readme's, and forum posts. You need to do some more homework.
